We are a game store in Portsmouth, Ohio, not an advertising business. This site collects the least it can get away with: what we need to take your payment, get your order to you and tell you how it is going. We do not sell or rent your information to anybody, and there are no tracking scripts on this site.

What we collect

When you place an order

Your name and email address, and your phone number if you choose to give it (that field is optional). Plus the items you ordered, the totals, and whether it is shipping or being picked up.

A shipping address, if we are shipping it

For shipped orders we collect the address you want it sent to. We use it to ship that order, and it goes to the carrier and the postage service that prints the label. Pickup orders do not ask for an address.

We never see your card details

Card payments are handled by Stripe. You type your card into a page Stripe hosts, and the full card number never reaches us. See card payments below.

Your mobile number, if you want texts

If you agree to texts about your orders and repairs, we keep your mobile number and the fact that you agreed. See text messages below.

Rewards and store credit

If you are in our free rewards programme or have a store credit balance, that account is looked up by phone number — that is what you type into the tablet at the counter. The account holds your name, your phone number, your balance and your visit history. It is not created by anything you do on this website.

Card payments

Card payments on this site are processed by Stripe. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach our servers. Stripe sends us back the card brand, the last four digits and a payment reference, so we can match the payment to your order and refund it if we need to. Stripe handles your payment under its own privacy policy.

Order emails

We use the email address on your order to email you about that order, and nothing else: when it is placed, when it is ready to pick up or has shipped (with the tracking link), and if it is cancelled. Stripe can also email you a receipt for a card payment. Our emails come from sales@fourthspacegames.com and are sent through Google Workspace, which we use for our email.

They have no images and no tracking pixels, so we cannot tell whether you opened one. The links in them go to our own site, or to the carrier's tracking page for your package.

Text messages

If you opt in, we text you about your orders and repairs: order ready, shipped, repair updates and receipts. Texts are sent through our messaging provider, Twilio, which carries the message to your phone and nothing else. Reply STOP to any text to stop them. The full terms are in our terms of sale.

What we do not do

• No analytics. No Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no tag manager, no heatmaps, no session recording. There is no third-party tracking code on this site at all.
• No advertising cookies, and no advertising network is given your data.
• No marketing email from this site. Placing an order does not sign you up for anything, and the site has no mailing list to join. Order emails and order texts are about your order, not adverts. Texts about events and deals only come if you tick that separate box at the store.
• We do not sell, rent or trade your information. Not to anyone, ever.

Things stored in your own browser

Two pieces of ordinary browser storage make the shop work. Neither is a tracking cookie and neither is sent anywhere until you act:

• Your cart lives in your browser's local storage on your own device. We do not see it until you place the order. Clearing your browser data empties it.
• The last shop page you were on is remembered for the current tab, so that "back to shop" returns you to your filters instead of the top of the catalog.

Staff sign-in for our own card-grading tools uses a session cookie. That is not part of shopping.

Server logs

Our web server keeps an access log, the way essentially every web server does: the IP address a request came from, the time, which page was asked for, the referring page and the browser's user-agent string. We use it for security — spotting abuse and diagnosing errors — and to be able to show what this site actually served on a given date, which matters for accessibility and consumer-protection questions.

Access logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted automatically. They are not linked to your order, they are not used to build a profile of you, and they are not shared with anyone.

Who else sees it

Order details are visible to the store — in practice, that is Tyler, who runs the place. Beyond that:

• Our hosting provider necessarily carries the traffic to and from this site and stores the database it runs on.
• Stripe processes card payments and sees the payment details you give it.
• Google Workspace carries our email, so it handles your email address and the order emails we send you.
• The carrier and our postage service get the name and address on a shipped order, so they can deliver it.
• Twilio delivers the texts you opted into, so it handles your mobile number and the message.
• Law enforcement, if we are legally required to hand something over. We are not aware of ever having been asked.

That is the complete list. There is nobody else.

Your information, your call

Email sales@fourthspacegames.com and we will tell you what we hold about you, or correct it if it is wrong. If you want to be removed, we will scrub you from our data: your name, email, phone number and address come off your orders, your rewards account and our text list. The sale amounts themselves stay in our books without your name, because tax law requires us to keep them. There is no form and no fee.

Children

Plenty of our customers are kids, and they are welcome in the shop. This website is a different thing: we would rather a parent or guardian placed the order, and we do not knowingly build any record beyond the order itself. If you are a parent and you want an order's details removed, email us and it is done.

Changes to this policy

If this changes we will update the date at the top of the page and, for anything significant, say plainly what changed rather than quietly reissuing the page.
