Plain terms for buying from us through this site. We either ship your order to you, paid by card when you order, or hold it for pickup at the store in Portsmouth, where you can pay when you collect it.

Shipping and pickup
Card singles and video games can be shipped to addresses in the United States. Consoles, accessories, sealed card product and board games are pickup only. Any order can be picked up at the store for free. Costs, timing and what happens if a package goes missing are on our shipping policy.
Prices and tax
Prices are in US dollars. Sales tax is calculated at checkout from where the order is going: Ohio sales tax on pickup orders and on orders shipped within Ohio, and other states' tax where the law requires it. The total you see on the payment page is the total you pay.
Card and product prices move, and we generate a lot of listings automatically, so occasionally one will be wrong. If an item is listed at the wrong price, we may cancel that item, the same as if it were out of stock, and refund it in full. We will not quietly charge you more than the price you ordered at.
Placing an order holds the stock
When you place an order the items are reserved for you immediately — they come off what the register can sell, so nobody can buy your copy out from under you while you are on your way in. If an item goes out of stock between you adding it to your cart and placing the order, the cart will tell you before the order goes through rather than after.
We will hold a placed order for 14 days. If we have not heard from you by then we may cancel it and put the items back on the shelf — and we will try to reach you first. Tell us if you need longer and we will work with you; this is not meant as a trap.
Payment
Shipped orders are paid by card when you place them. Card payments are handled by Stripe: you enter your card on a page Stripe hosts, and we never see or store your card number. Your order is confirmed as soon as the payment goes through.
Pickup orders can be paid later. Choose pay at pickup and nothing is charged when you order; you pay at the counter when you collect it. Shipped orders are paid by card at checkout.
Returns
Our full return and exchange policy is on its own page: Returns and exchanges. It has two sets of rules. In store, unopened new items come back within 30 days with your receipt and pre-owned items come back for store credit within 7 days. Shipped orders can start a return within 14 days of delivery, and you pay return shipping unless we made the mistake. Card singles are final sale unless they are not as described.
Text messages
If you give us your mobile number and agree to texts, Fourth Space Games will text you about your orders and repairs: when an order is ready or has shipped, repair updates, and receipts.

- Agreeing to texts is not a condition of buying anything.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Store credit
If you have a store credit balance with us:
- Store credit is not refundable for cash once it has been issued.
- Balances are capped at $200.
- You can spend up to $25 of credit per day. This is so credit gets used over time rather than all at once; ask and we will lift it for a specific purchase or a prize redemption.
Trade-ins
We buy cards and games, on items we choose to take. We do not take everything, and that is at our discretion. Offers can be cash or store credit, and store credit is worth more. Every item is appraised individually, on things like its popularity, how quickly it sells, its condition and what we already have in stock. You are never obliged to accept an offer.
When we may cancel an order
We may cancel any item or order, for any reason. Usually it is because an item turned out to be damaged, miscounted or listed wrong, or because we cannot reach you. When we cancel something, you get a full refund for it to the card you paid with.
If we cancel part of a shipped order, we refund your shipping too, so you are not out the postage if you would rather buy the missing item somewhere else.

If any part of this site is hard for you to use, our accessibility statement says what we aim for, what we know is unfinished, and how to tell us. We will also take your order by phone or in person.
The legal bit
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Ohio. If we change them we will update the date at the top of this page; the terms that apply to your order are the ones published when you placed it. Nothing here is meant to take away a right you have under Ohio or federal consumer law — where they conflict, the law wins.
